The Root System

UnifiedRoot enables businesses and individuals to have their own top-level domains (TLDs) at the same hierarchical level with widely known current top-level domains like ".com", ".net", or country code top-level domains (ccTLDs) like ".de", ".uk", and ".jp".The UnifiedRoot system works in the same way the current DNS system that most of us use today.Instead of having multiple domain names like "company.com", "company.net", "company.biz", "company.co.uk", one can register a single TLD and build around the dot to adopt a more flexible, logical, and simple addressing standard like "home.company"

What is IANA

Based at the University of Southern California's Information Sciences Institute, IANA is in charge of all "unique parameters" on the Internet, including IP (Internet Protocol) addresses. The IANA is chartered by the Internet Society (ISOC) to act as the clearinghouse to assign and coordinate the use of numerous Internet protocol parameters. The Internet Assigned Numbers Authority can be found at http://www.iana.org/.

What is ICANN

These identifiers include MIME media types, port numbers, private-enterprise numbers, and protocol numbers. This web site contains information about existing assignments and how to obtain a new assignment. The IANA is also responsible for the technical aspects of assigning top-level domains (including ccTLDs) within the Internet's domain name system, for coordinating of the IP-address allocation system operated in conjunction with the Regional Internet Registries (APNIC, ARIN, LACNIC, and RIPE NCC), and for overseeing the technical operation of the Internet's root-nameserver system
